Architects: Orit Muhlbauer Architects, a project underway
A new neighborhood is currently being built on the ruins of the Maccabi Jaffa football (soccer) field, next to a future metro station and urban park. It extends across an area of about 40 acres and includes around 2,000 housing units. This tour with the architects Orit Muhlbauer and Roni Sender-Israeli will introduce participants to Compound “A” of the neighborhood, which extends across an area of 4 acres, on which 14 apartment and commercial buildings are being built that will have 630 apartments (half of which are subsidized housing and the other half will be sold on the open market). Using simulations and blueprints, the architects will explain the principles underlying the project and the its construction plan, with shops on the ground floor that create an urban street, inner courtyards for use by the tenants, and an architectural design inspired by Jaffa.
The project, an initiative of the Israel Land Authority, is being carried out by Zemach Hammerman, Elad Israel Residence, and Meshulam Levinstein Contracting and Engineering.
Planning team: the architects Roni Sender-Israeli, Yoed Goder, Shir Greenberger, Gomme Gilat, Nancy Sandulovici, Shay Naim, Barak Hindi, Yuval Litani and Emanuelle Sides.
