Meeting place: the sales office at the Shai Agnon St. entrance to the complex
Friday, May 7th, 11:00
Architects: Moore-Yasky-Sivan; Associate Architect: Rachel Feller; A Project Still Underway
The architect Rachel Feller will lead an in-depth architectural tour of the one of the largest residential projects in the city, which extends across a low density area of about 13 acres and copes with a variety of planning challenges: how to develop a gated neighborhood that conveys openness towards the surrounding urban space, how to maximize the potential inherent in the underground parking area in order to connect the buildings and create shared use areas, such as a residents` club, spa and pool, and how to design apartments that afford maximum flexibility in terms of their interior layout. The project, which consists of two tall hi-rises, two lower hi-rises and eight 6-story buildings, offers a variety of living styles adjacent to one another. The fact that the project was constructed over a period of ten years, while adapting the apartments` interior designs to buyers` changing needs, facilitates interesting observation of how residential perceptions in Israel have undergone change over the past decade.

An Accessibility Happening at the Tel Aviv Port
The sandbox complex on the northern deck, next to Hanger 20
Friday, May 7th, 12:30-16:00
Have you ever tried to go up a ramp while in a wheelchair?  Find your way in a crowd with your eyes blindfolded? Communicate with no sound? The Israel Accessibility Association and the Tel Aviv Port invite you to an accessibility happening where you`ll be able, if just for a few moments, to try and perceive different disabilities, open your mind and heart to the daily difficulties experienced by nearly 1.5 million Israelis, and understand the vital need for making public places accessible.
The happening is suitable for the entire family and will include "blind" ice cream and wine tasting, climbing a standard ramp in a wheelchair, a basketball game played in wheelchairs, walking blindfolded through a crowd with a guide dog, and more.
The Tel Aviv Port was chosen to host the happening because it serves a model for how to make public spaces accessible, after involving consultants from the Israel Accessibility Association in its planning. There are handicap parking spots located throughout the Port, as well as wide and unobstructed passageways leading to the parking areas, signage, restrooms for people with disabilities, etc.
At the end of the happening the "Israel Accessibility Prize" will be awarded to business establishments actively engaged in enhancing accessibility.
