An opportunity to see one of the largest residential projects currently under construction in the city. The project was designed with an attempt to revitalize the urban texture around it: staying close to the street beat at the front of the project and positioning the building at the center, facing a park. Tour will be guided by architect Moshe Tzur. It will leave from the building’s lobby, pass through the spa and public areas and climb up to the top of the building.

A lecture and discussion with Dr. Adina Meyer-Meryl from Tel Aviv University about the exhibition “Lotte Cohen - The First Woman Architect of Eretz Israel”, currently on display at the Bauhaus center. The discussion will focus on the different buildings Cohen designed. Cohen was Richard Kaufman’s little-known partner and one of the handful of women who left a mark on Israel’s building landscape.

A tour with architect Doron Minin of the Building Preservation Department at the Tel-Aviv-Jaffa Municipality, who will review the basic components of Tel Aviv’s urban texture. the tour will show how the integration of Geddes’ plan and the International building style, created a texture that combines urban intensity and small streets dipped in lush greenery.

Visit the first Bauhaus building to undergo restoration that transformed a mythological movie theatre into a small urban hotel. Inside the main theater hall, more than 80 guest rooms and a dining room were built. The theater’s entrance and the main stairway have been restored to their original state and are currently used for different purposes and host a large collection of cameras and projectors.

Art and Architecture in Tel Aviv’s Old Cemetery

Rotem Zeevi, conservation architect in the Trumpldor cemetery reconstruction and preservation project, will guide you through the city’s first cemetery, which also acts as a museum for the history of Tel Aviv. The city’s construction history will be exposed through the different contemporary styles of the grave stones (Eclectic, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus and more), through detailed attention to the graves design, fonts, construction materials etc. Also, see a collection of artifacts found during the reconstruction process such as statues, medallions and embossments.

The penthouse apartment and studio of the potter Zivah, was designed by her in collaboration with the two designers mentioned above, and is located in a 1935 building which had recently undergone meticulous preservation. This is a well lit apartment with open spaces and open views to the roof-decks from nearly every point in the apartment.

The Metamorphosis of a Building: HaChalalit

A private rendezvous with 4 reps of the building in its different stages: Amnon Rechter, the planning architect’s grandson; Harlold Rubbin who worked at Arieh Sharon Architects that had occupied part of the building for 50 years; Yael Aloni, Sharon’s daughter from his first marriage, and architect Kerem Halbrecht, who currently rents the office and is one of the founders of “Hachalalit” -Hebrew for “Spaceship”- a creative space, residential quarters and culture center running within its walls.

The “Tree in the City” Ecologic Apartment

How do you grow lettuce in a pot? How do you paint a wall without exposure to poisonous materials? All this and more would be illustrated this weekend at the “Tree in The City” apartment. The pad is a model for ecological living in the city. It is located on the ground floor of a 1925 urban villa, built in an eclectic, mid-eastern style by architect Shmuel Baldar. During the renovation, interesting elements were added, such as recycled items and objects made of Papier Maché. The adjacent yard is used for growing fruits and vegetables.
On Saturday evening - a homage for Tel Aviv’s first 100 composters and featuring of compost sites in Tel Aviv.
